Povzetek: A response of thin-walled laminated composite tanks, subjected to different levels of internal pressure, is studied in this paper. Tanks are made of several layers of glass-reinforced polyester composites with the reinforcement in a form of fibres (rowing), matt, woven and so-called blown rowing. A four-noded multilayered shell finite element is used to perform a non-linear finite element simulation. The element is based on the first-order shear-deformation shell theory for relatively thin composite laminates. Geometric non-linearities and non-conservative character of pressure loading are taken into account. Numerical solutions are compared with the results obtained by an experimental procedure [COBISS.SI-ID 155751]
