Povzetek: Dne 12. aprila 1998 je bil v zgornjem Posočju potres z oceno magnitude 5,8. Gibanje tal med potresom je zabeležilo 17 akcelerografov v Sloveniji in Italiji, od katerih je bil najbližji oddaljen okrog 22 km od nadžarišća. V okviru razvojno raziskovalnih nalog so zbrani akcelerogrami ter podatki o instrumentih in o njihovih lokacijah. Iz popravljenih (korigiranih) akcelerogramov so izračunani in narisani časovni poteki hitrosti in pomikov tal ter spektri pospeškov, hitrosti in pomikov. Analizirana sta tudi dva akcelerograma najmočnejšega popotresa 6. maja 1998. Povprečni spektri so primerjani s spektri po Eurocode 8, pojemanje največjega (vršnega) pospeška tal PGA pa z modeli pojemanja, ki se uporabljajo za ozemlje Slovenije. Primerjave z dolgoročnimi verjetnostnimi ocenami potresne nevarnosti in ocene pospeška v okolici nadžarišča kažejo, da dobimo z obstoječimi modeli pojemanja precej večje PGA od izmerjenih. Tudi normiran spekter odziva po Eurocode 8 je pri večini nihajnih časov konservativen

On 12th April, 1998, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in upper Soča Territory, Slovenia. The ground motion was recorded on 17 accelerographs in Slovenia and Italy. The nearest one was located at a distance of about 22 km. Within the research projects the recorded accelerograms, data on instruments and on the sites have been collected. The accelerograms were corrected for instrument response and the time-histories of ground velocities and ground displacements, as well as acceleration, velocity and displacement spectra were calculated and plotted. Two records obtained during the strongest aftershock were also analyzed. Attenuation of recorded peak ground acceleration (PGA) was compared with attenuation equations used in Slovenia, and mean spectra were compared with spectra according to Eurocode 8. Probabilistic seismic hazard analysis and estimated epicentral acceleration values are also given. It has been shown that both attenuations and EC8 spectra, used in Slovenia, yield larger values than those recorded from the earthquake [COBISS.SI-ID 824673]
